There are two dates I should not miss every year – one of them is Christmas – typical time for family get togethers – and the other one is the mid-summer fest every first July in my home town. Coming up – coming up – count down I’m on my way. It’s the time the entire town (not so big btw) dresses all in white, flowers decorate the water fountains, lamp posts and every little girls head. There’s a huge parade, early morning – watching while eating a Gipfeli (Swiss croissant….less buttery) – sipping on coffee which soon changes into some fresh Swiss white wine – the party begins. Old school friends gatherings. Avoid old boyfriends- buy balloons for the kids (totally overpriced!!) – walk, chat, drink , go …. long long long family lunch  and the afternoon in the luna park shooting ceramic figures, letting the kids go on roller coasters while I look away (too scared) and spending the evening at a friends garden party.

So – this is the week – we will not miss it for the wold!

毎年絶対に外せない行事が2つあります。1つはクリスマス―家族揃って祝う典型的な行事
－もう1つは7月に故郷スイスで行われる夏祭りです。もうすぐ、もうすぐ―指折り数えな
がらスイスに向かいます。(そんなに大きくはない街だけど)街中の人々が真っ白い服を着
て、噴水や街頭、そしてあらゆる女の子の頭に花がいっぱい飾られます。朝早くに大きな
パレードがあり、Gipfeli(スイスのバターが少なめのクロワッサン)を食べながらそれを眺
めているうちに朝食のコーヒーが白ワインの変わり、パーティーが始まります。学校の同
級生たちにも会えますが、昔のボーイフレンドは避けながら―子供達に風船を(高い！)を買
い与え、おしゃべりしながら飲みながらぶらぶらとします。…長い時間をかけて家族でラ
ンチをしたら午後は公園で射的をしたり、子供達がローラーコースターに乗るのを見たり
(怖いから見るだけ)、友人のガーデンパーティに招かれたりします。

そう、今週は夏祭り―絶対に外せない日！
